Who it’s for

You have a great site, but it brings in almost no one.

01

Your site doesn’t show up when people search for what you do

You type what your customers type, and you’re nowhere to be seen. Your competitors are on page one.

02

You depend on ads to get any visits

The moment you cut the budget, the traffic stops. You want a channel that keeps working when you stop paying.

03

You get visits, but no leads or sales

Traffic that doesn’t convert is worthless. You need the right people, the right message, on the right page.

04

Your last SEO provider never explained anything

An 80-page audit, monthly retainers, and nobody to tell you simply what changed and what it brings you.

SEO explained simply

SEO is becoming the answer your customers find.

SEO stands for search engine optimization: making your site easy to find in organic (unpaid) results. When someone searches for what you do, on Google or by asking an AI assistant, the answers favor the sites that are the clearest, the most useful and the most trustworthy. The goal is to become one of them, on three fronts.

Pillar 1

Technical SEO

A fast, clean site that search engines and AI can read without obstacles. It’s the foundation: without it, even the best content stays invisible.

Pillar 2

Content

Pages that answer exactly what your customers search for, in their words. It’s what makes you show up, then what convinces them.

Pillar 3

Authority

Other sites that talk about you and recommend you. The more serious sources cite you, the more search engines and AI trust you.

SEO or Google Ads (paid ads)?

Neither is “better”: they just don’t run at the same pace.

  • Paid ads: fast results, sometimes the next day. But traffic depends on your budget: if you cut the ads, visits stop dead.
  • SEO: slower to start. In return, the traffic lasts, keeps growing over time, and you don’t pay for each visit.
  • Together: ads to move fast while SEO builds up, then traffic that stays when the budget goes down.

What good SEO should bring you

Traffic is a means, not a goal. I look at what matters to your business:

  • Qualified leads, if you sell services.
  • Sales and a higher average order value, if you run a store.
  • A cost per customer that goes down over time, unlike paid ads.

SEO rarely works alone. I connect it to your site, your ads, your emails and your CRM, so the visitors SEO brings you actually become customers.

What I do

SEO consulting: audit, content, AI search visibility and reporting.

Four workstreams that complement each other. You can hand me all of it, or just the one you need.

01 · SEO audit

An SEO audit that tells you what to fix, in what order.

I go through your site to understand what’s holding back your visibility. Not an 80-page tool export: an explained diagnosis, with an action plan ranked by impact and effort.

  • Technical SEO: pages Google can’t see or doesn’t keep, errors, speed and Core Web Vitals, mobile display, redirects.
  • Structure: site architecture, internal linking, duplicate pages competing with each other (cannibalization).
  • Content: thin pages, titles and descriptions, pages that answer no search at all.
  • Authority and competition: the links you earn, the ones your competitors earn, and the searches where they beat you.
  • A prioritized action plan: what gets fixed this week, what needs a developer, what can wait.

02 · Content production

I produce your content, written around the right keywords.

Keywords are worthless until they’re in good content. I start by finding what your customers really search for, on Google as well as in AI assistants. Then I write the content that answers those searches, with the keywords placed where they count.

  • Your existing pages: I rewrite the copy, titles and tags with the right keywords, and merge pages that compete with each other. Often the fastest win.
  • Your blog: I write articles from your customers’ real questions, on a steady editorial calendar. Each article targets one keyword and one search intent.
  • Your landing pages: I write one page per service, product or city, built to be found and to convince, with a clear call to action.
  • If you prefer to write in-house: I provide the keywords and a precise brief for each piece, and I review the result.

03 · SEO and AI search

Get cited by ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI, not just ranked.

More and more people ask an assistant (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) or read the AI answer shown at the top of Google. Those answers draw on existing web pages, mostly clear, trustworthy and well-ranked sites. So SEO isn’t dead: it’s also how you become the source the AI cites. This is what people now call AI search optimization, generative engine optimization (GEO) or answer engine optimization (AEO).

  • Content that’s easy to cite: a direct answer at the top of the page, definitions, prices, comparisons and FAQs, structured to be quoted as-is.
  • A machine-readable site: structured data, fast pages, and a check that AI assistants’ crawlers aren’t blocked by mistake.
  • Authority around your brand: mentions and links on recognized sites, reviews, a consistent online presence.
  • Concrete tracking: I regularly test your customers’ questions in the main assistants to see whether, and how, your brand is cited.

Nobody can guarantee being cited by an AI: the rules change fast. The fundamentals, though, stay solid.

04 · Reporting

Your SEO numbers, tied to what matters for your business.

Rankings and clicks don’t pay your bills. I centralize your data in a single SEO reporting dashboard and connect it to your business numbers: online orders, client meetings, quote requests.

  • Everything centralized: search data, website data and business data (store, calendar, CRM) in one place, updated automatically.
  • Tied to your goals: I track what matters to you, online orders or client meetings, and trace them back to the pages and searches that bring them.
  • Readable in two minutes: the key numbers, what’s rising, what’s dropping, and what I suggest doing next.
  • A regular check-in: we review what changed together and decide on next actions. The dashboard stays yours.

Your competitors are on page one, and you’re not?

Why work with me

Why hire a freelance SEO consultant?

I’m Sophie Monteil, an independent digital marketing consultant based in Toulouse, France. Over more than six years I’ve supported 20+ businesses, B2B and B2C, in Toulouse and remotely.

I’ve seen too many SEO projects stop at a rankings spreadsheet that earns nothing. I start from your commercial goal: which searches lead to a customer, and what it takes for you to be the one they find.

See my background
01

I connect SEO to your business

I don’t think in silos. Every action is tied to what keeps your company running: orders, meetings, revenue, profitability. You know what SEO brings you.

02

I start by understanding your business

Rather than optimizing keywords in a vacuum, I start from how you make money: your most profitable offers, your ideal customers, your sales cycle. SEO then targets the searches that matter to your business, not the ones that just bring traffic.

03

Strategic advice across your whole growth

SEO doesn’t live alone. I also advise on advertising, your website, emails and CRM, so every lever reinforces the others and your decisions hold up.

04

One point of contact, clear explanations

The person who analyzes is the person who acts. I explain every action in plain language: what I do, why, and what you can expect. Your site and your access stay yours.

Method

How we work together

SEO takes patience: the first effects come quickly, real growth builds over several months.

  1. Month 1

    Diagnose and prioritize

Site audit, competitor analysis and keyword research. You leave with a clear plan: what we fix first, what we create next, what we leave aside.

  2. Months 2 and 3

    Fix and publish

Technical fixes, optimization of key pages, first pieces of content. The first signals appear: better-indexed pages, first rankings won.

  3. Month 4 and beyond

    Scale what works

We look at what brings leads and sales, produce more of what works, and strengthen the site’s authority. Traffic climbs, and each visit costs less and less.

FAQ

Your questions

How much does a freelance SEO consultant cost?
I work on a custom quote, depending on your site’s size, your market, your starting point and the level of support you need (audit only, monthly support, content). As a benchmark, a full SEO audit by a freelancer typically runs between €1,000 and €3,000: I explain what an audit should include in this article.
How long does SEO take to work?
First technical fixes can have an effect within a few weeks, but lasting traffic growth usually builds over 3 to 6 months, sometimes longer depending on competition and your site’s age. I’d rather tell you that upfront than promise a first-place ranking in 15 days.
SEO or Google Ads: which should I start with?
Google Ads brings visits the next day but stops when you stop paying. SEO is slower to start, then each extra visit costs you nothing. We often combine them: ads to move fast, SEO to build traffic that lasts. I work on both: see my article on Google Ads.
Can you guarantee the #1 spot on Google?
No, and be wary of anyone who does: nobody controls Google. What I commit to is methodical, measured, explained work, with indicators you can check yourself (rankings, clicks, leads or sales).
Do you work with both B2B and B2C businesses?
Yes, both. In B2B, the challenge is being found by decision-makers who compare providers before asking for a meeting. In B2C, it’s attracting visitors ready to buy. The method is the same: start from your customers’ searches, then measure what pays off.
Do you write the content and blog articles?
Yes, whichever suits you: I can define the topics and write them myself, or give you precise briefs for your team or a writer. Either way, every piece starts from a real customer search, not from a wish to write.
Does SEO still matter with ChatGPT and AI answers in Google?
Yes, and it matters even more: AI assistants and Google’s AI overviews rely on clear, trustworthy, well-structured sites. The fundamentals (useful content, a clean site, authority) stay the same. I add how your brand is cited in those answers.
Do I need to give you access to my site and tools?
Yes, read-only at first (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, your CMS). Your access and data stay yours, and you can remove my access at any time.
